Just take the wires off of the doorbell, will stop working.

Most doorbells run on a D/C current supplied from a transformer that is usually accessible from inside the house, basement floor joist or maybe in a coat closet. Just disconnect the wires on the d/c side and it will stop working.

You can indeed cut the wires. Worked in my case, but I don't know many types of doorbells, or the electric current that's running thru them.

You should find the 2 wires that feed the bell and cut 1 of them.

My personal favorite way to disable a doorbell is with a big heavy hammer, also works well with alarm clocks on first day of vacation.

Feel safe in cutting or disconnecting any of the wires, some types will have a low voltage current in them and may make your fingers tingle when removing. Good luck.

Go to the transformer and disconnect one or both wires.
