According to the psychologists, a video game cannot be addictive (based on the word's current definition).
That said, the game is very fun, and you may find yourself losing track of time. Like anything, take it in moderation, and you'll be fine. Set a timer if you think you'll have problems turning it off. It's only "addictive" if you let yourself loose and neglect everything else in your life.

oh my god, it is very sickening seeing people who have no idea about WoW or any other game talk about games in the shoes of "the big brother". I don't know why you have a hard time with people having fun, and feeling like they're kids again. Life is full of stress, kids, wife, work, bills, and all kinds of crap. Most people spend most of their time outside their houses because they wanna feed their kids and family. Kids in schools and high schools, need to release the stress they build up during the week. I don't think that being so in love with a video game is a problem.
Everyday when I go back from work, I play WoW, and my lovely wife supports that, she understands that people need to have fun sometimes. I think that everyone should be understanding to that. People who say that it is addicting don't even know what addiction is. It is not like i wanna have it right now "like drugs", but it is more like I wanna play ASAP because it is so much fun.
As long as the game doesn't let the player lose his job, fail in school, or lose his friends, I think that it is ok for you play a video game, in fact I encourage you play a video game. Have fun, let life make some sense. Just don't let it take over your life, that's all what takes.
Yes WoW is great, go ahead, buy it. If you need any help, my name is Mithrix on Blade's Edge Server.

have fun ;)
People: please let other have fun. If you wanna be all depressed and do your daily routine, go ahead, keep it to your selves. But let others see how much fun life hides.

All mmorpgs are addictive.
It's up to you to manage your time, or get your parents to manage your time for you.
