It was my honor to know some Native Americans when I was in the army. Boy, they could run so fast! It was superhuman how fast. I found them to have a quiet, subtle sense of humor and an amazing depth of soul. One of them, who I won't name, found out that I was an author and handed me a 14 page short story that he had written and it was so insightful and powerfully written. He and his buddy also NEVER complained about anything that we were ordered to do, no matter how assinie it was, even though everyone else was. Rock steady. They were both Zuni'. After all that had happened to their people, they were there in the S**t with me. Honor, Duty, Courage, amazing. Oh, and I feel shunned by others in certain public areas, too, I think everyone does. Shake it off.

I think you suffer from a psychological complex in this regard.Your observation and understanding of feelings which others have towards the native Americans is not correct. In today's America, the Native Americans are shown equal respect just as other citizens of this country. America is a conglomeration of diverse races and linguistic groups; where all are treated equally.

That most of if not all of your 500+ nations were / are proud, spiritual, people who were one with the land, preservation of plant and animal species by minimal disturb-ens and thanking the animal / corn spirites and The GREAT ANCESTOR SPIRIT / Curator. --- your ansesters were farming maize, (corn in Australia), punkins, tomatoes, potatoes, building pyramids, thousands of years before most of the other U.S. citizens ansesters were trading their spears and caves to grow wheat and build lean-to's.
Even in Australia we have herd of more than 30 different nations who fought against the french, english & spainish., guns, smallpox & ignorance.
Be proud of who you are & expect & give respect as well understand that the newcomers allso love their/your country as they have no memories of ansestial Europe, Asia, Africa eta. ---take care , merry christmas.--- To help build your self confidence & change some peoples thinking. Try some random acts of kindness, help someome with change, car trouble, heavy grocseries & including becoming a regular blood doner.--- I do the above in Australia & am proud to be an 8generation mix of Irish, Spainish, Jewish, Welsh & Aboriginal.!!!

I think they're just like anyone else, and I have a tiny bit Native American in me, so of course I wouldn't think anything negative of them.

They should close the borders to the reservations. Look at what happened when the white man arrived. Be proud of your race, you people are the real Americans.

I think its mostly in your head dude. With the polyglot most major cities in the USA has become, most of us pay absolutely no attention to your ethnicity. They do notice anti-social behavior, tats, piercings and racist slogans on T-shirts. Maybe its something in your appearance that people find off putting.
