Are you in your third or second trimester?

This is completely normal!

That's puuuurrrrffeectly normal! Don't worry! You know my mother had those dreams when she bore my eldest sister! Relax. It's the hormones going jumpy. Especially when you are in the 1st pregnancy that is soooo perfectly normal. That's because your body is involuntarily coping to those changes, and you mentally/psychologically coping with the changes in your life, though you don't notice it.

Talk to your family and spouse about that. You'll need ther support. And pray, always pray. I believe you're spiritually OK?

When my mother bore my sister whatever problems she was having with her body came out to her in nightmares. Why, she dreamt of someone pounding her baby-bearing womb, and when she woke up, she just had a full bladder! Father then guided her to the bathroom.

Don't be too worried. If your nightmare gets serious go to the doc for some advice, not before the counsellor or psychologist though.

Congratz with the baby!

Hi, I think everyone has bad dreams when they are pregnant because its such an anxious time in your life. From day one that you find out you're expecting you start to worry, what with all of the tests and how to cope etc. I think its only natural that those anxieties have to come out somewhere, hence nightmares. I had tons of them and after Id had my babies I didnt have any more nightmares like those ones. You're also only 12 weeks gone so recently you've had to deal with quite a lot mentally, dont worry, just try not to get upset over them. x

My dreams lately have been so disturbing and so vivid. Does this mean something might be wrong with me or the baby?
Not at all. Pregnancy dreams, especially in the last trimester, are often vivid and scary—and this is completely normal. Such dreams may provide a way for your subconscious to deal with any fears and insecurities you no doubt have about pregnancy and impending motherhood. In her book Pregnancy and Childbirth, Tracie Hotchner writes, "Dreams have an important function at this time in your life. Think of them as messages, information about yourself that you have no other way of finding out. Dreams are things to discuss, ideas to recognize." What do they mean?
You may have a panicky dream in which you leave the baby unsupervised, lose her altogether, or fumble some simple task like burping your child—scenarios that may signal you're fearful of the demands of mothering. Dreaming that you're running away, falling from a great height, or trapped in a room may express your concern about losing your freedom. Other common dreams reflect concerns over changes in your looks or in your marriage, what your baby will look like, or whether you're preparing yourself for motherhood properly. What do I do about these dreams?
Listen to them and know that they're normal. They're often easy to interpret—a dream that you can't feed your baby is most likely reflective of your fears that you won't know how to take care of a new baby. Although such dreams can be disturbing, regard them as an opportunity to read the tea leaves of your inner thoughts. Once you examine your fears, you can often confront them openly—either with your spouse or healthcare provider.

Though, pregnant women are usually the ones who dream vividly, you may find your partner is also having memorable dreams about the changes that lie ahead of you both. By using your dreams as a touchstone for discussion, you may find them a useful mirror and tool. You may even get a good laugh out of them.

Yes.
Every pregnancy I had, I had dreams. Horrible ones, stupid ones, never had a good dream though. Hmmmm.
It seems that your deepest fears come out when you are pregnant. Drink a calming tea before bed, I preferred chamomile with honey. Or warm milk. Pregnancy affects the entire body and mind. Just accept it and don't worry about it, because worrying will not help a thing. Good luck and congratulations.

Well, vivid dreams are common in pregnancy from what I have read and experienced. I had a few bad dreams during my previous 2 pregnancies that seemed so real and when I woke up it took me a while to orient myself.

Yes...bad dreams or nightmares are normal. I had them until just a few weeks ago...so throughtout my 1st and 2nd trimester. These dreams mean nothing, just your mind and hormones working overtime.

I kept dreaming I was having a puppy....weird.

I had strange dreams when I was pregnant. I think its just the change in hormones. I wouldn't read too much into it. I tried to change my daughter's name because of one of them before she was born and now I'm glad I didn't follow the dream and go through with it.

Did you just see I am Legend? Or read a book?

Its a pretty common scenario and plot, you've picked it up some where.

As it is, your hormones from pregnancy screw everything up, including your sleep. Nightmares of all kinds are normal.
