How do you get yahoo to appear as a full screen page
I changed the resolution, thats ok. I open web pages and the are the same size as when I had my 15 inch..I assumed that with a 24 inch it would fill my whole screen. Most of the other web sites also do not fill the whole screen. Is there some setting that I can do to stretch the pages like you do with backgrounds?

It is a widescreen LCD

Sorry, but the person who designed the Yahoo page put restriction in the code so that it always displays with (only) 1024 across the page regardless of the size of the monitor. That is why if you use 800 instead of 1024 for your resolution, you have to scroll to the see the other edge of the page.

It is possible to allow a web page to resize itself to fit any resolution or size of window in which it is displayed. But then you do, all of the text, graphics, etc move around to fit the page. With a site as complex and layout intense as Yahoo, that would be a nightmare to try to design so that everything would look good at 640x480, yet still be perfect at 1600xwhatever. So the programmer restricted the page so that it always displays at 1024 across the page.

No....The Yahoo Page is coded at an exact width and would look the same on any size monitor when set to the same resolution....Theres no way to stretch the page images on the fly like that...

If the problem is with window size when you open them just click the maximize button in the top right corner of the window to have it take up the whole screen then hit File>Close then all future windows will open full screen...

Set the Display Resolution to the monitor's "Native" resolution (it's in the User Manual) and set the horizontal refresh rate to 60hz.

LCD monitors should never be set to ANY other resolution, like you could with older CRT monitors.

Then, make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

If that doesn't solve your problem please re-post with the Make & Model number of your monitor and graphics card. Then, we can try to help.

Open Help and Support Center. In Search type Windows size. You'll get the articles and possible answers to your question.

Ain't nobody else got a 24-inch, so how would we know??? Best thing is to try your documentation that came with the monitor. If that fails, call your ISP, they usually know lots of stuff.

Good LUck
