I think just spending time as a family is special if you don't get to do it often. Take the phone off the hook, order some take-away food and when the baby goes to sleep snuggle up on the sofa with your hubby and watch a great film, maybe with a bottle of wine.

Have a merry merry Christmas xx

Then ur home is where u should spend ur christmas eve .. clean up the house and make it nice and neat and get a tree and decorate it and order dinner or something and wear cute christmas clothes (even if they were family christmas pajamas! ) and TAKE PICTURES of the three of u celebrating ur baby's first christmas then cuddle and watch a movie until the baby falls asleep then have some "adult fun" ;p

what about a romantic meal once the baby's gone to sleep or try while awake if that could work that depends on the child I guess...
Could always all snuggle up & watch the christmas films on TV?

that sounds pretty hard to spend an original Chrismas, but I think you should take everything on the bright side : you are truly lucky to live in scotland : I live in Marseille (it's in France, on the "côte d'azur") and I hate my life, because there is to many people who are untolerant and dirty...
my dream is to live in scotland ! !
you have everything, nature, fresh air and peace, right?
so you could take a big chrismas dinner with songs, films and games
you let your husband cooking for you
and tomorrow, after chrismas, you could hiking

scotland is a paradise for people who loves nature...I hope you do ! ?
