No, you're right. There is no biblical evidence whatsoever that points to Christ's birthday being on Christmas. Actually, the complete opposite is true! Based on what we know of the shepards during that time, people have figured that Jesus was actually born sometime in or near the month of June. The early church decided to celebrate Jesus' birthday on the 25th because they wanted to have a christian celebration of their own while the pagan Winter Solstace celebrations were going on. Jesus was also born in 3-4 AD. The Catholics got that a little off, as well.

No, He wasn't and there are many reasons why I say that 1) The reason why Joseph and Mary were traveling was because a census was being held and the men had to return to the city they were born in, Census taking was done in the fall after the summer harvest were completed, the winter was too cold and people would not make the journey. 2) Bible speaks about Shepherds being out in the field when Jesus was born, Shepherds did not stay outside over night with their animals during winter, the temperature was too cold and rainy they stayed out during the summer and early fall 3) December 25th was a pagan holiday after the winter solistice, the people noticed how the days got shorter (shortest day Dec 21st) and the would celebrate the sun-god Saturn to bring him back. The celebrations were filled with drunkeness, homosexuality, open displays of sex acts, and gluttony. Gift giving, christmas trees, were part of the pagan holiday. Early christians (probably because they were tired of being sent to the theaters to be eaten by lions) finally decided to blend all the pagan holidays and give them "christian" meanings. Like putting crap in a box and naming it chocolate. What happened to dying for your beliefs? But all in all Jesus probably was born in October and probably hates you celebrating his birthday on Dec. 25th. Enjoy!

Hi, how are you doing? no, jesus was not born on the 25 of december. Only God knows the exact date and the people who were present. The 25th of December is just the day set aside to celebrate his birth. Not the actual day. I think Jesus was bron in the fall sometime, Who knows? write me.

No, Jesus was not born on the 25th of December. Early Christian leaders set Jesus' birth close to the Wiccan Sabbat (Holy Day) of YULE so it would be easier for them to convert to Christianity. Hence the term "Yuletide". Yule is celebrated around the 23rd of December. I agree with others who say that He was probably born during the summer or fall, due to the shepherds being in their fields and just the way the Christian Bible tells the story.
I hope I helped. Good luck with your quest.

no, is the day that we celebrate the birth of JESUS.it was in the spring. The birth date of Jesus is not important. We all know that Jesus lived. According to the scripture and the description of the time of his birth he said it was probably sometime in October. The catholic church decided to celebrate his birth then a long time ago to down play the Pagan celebrations at that time

I agree with everyone who says the he was not born on 12/25. Christmas was created I believe when Constatine was trying to keep peace in the region between "Christians" and Pagens in the region. In order for the Pagens to keep their holiday of worshiping the Sun God, he incorporated the celebration to also celebrate Christ... Pretty Brilliand politically...
I also think Jesus was born in the fall... It was during a time when the livestock had to be brought in at night because of the temperature outside at night...

Our ancestors decided at some point to celebrate the birth of Jesus on a pagan holiday.
The only important thing is that He is remembered. Eh?

Jesus's birthdate was picked out to coincide with a pagan holiday many years after Jesus was born. No one knows his actual birthday.

There is no exact date so this is the day that is celebrated because it's the day that he was seen by others. I read somewhere that he was actualy some months old at that time.

The birth date of Jesus is not important. We all know that Jesus lived. The important thing is that Jesus died and He resurrected Himself from the dead and eventually ascended into heaven.
