lets denote the full size bags wid x
and collapsible bags wid y.
total bags=124
so... 124=x+y................................. (equation 1)
bill for shipment=3430
3430=38.50x + 22.50y..................(equation 2)

solve these equations by any method... example elimination method.

I would start off by taking a stab. I chose to start at a halfway point and see if we had 62 expensive and 62 cheap, what we would have:

62 of each bag brings us to $3782
(62 x 34.30) + (62 x 22.50) = 3782

Next, determine how much we went over. Our goal was 3430, but we added up to 3782. We went over by $352.
$3782-$3430= $352

Next, look at the price difference. Between $22.50 and $38.50, there is a $16 price difference.
38.5-22.5=16

Now, we need more cheaper bags, so our total is lower. Every time we take out an expensive bag and replace it with a cheaper one, our $3782 will be reduced by $16. We want to reduce it by $352 to hit our target of $3420.

Next, divide $352 by 16 to see how many reductions we need to make. We get 22.
352/16 = 22

If we reduce our expensive bags 22 times, and instead add 22 more cheaper bags, we should hit our goal. Remember, we reduce from 62, the random half point number we started calculating from....

62-22=40
62+22=84

The shipment included 40 of the $38.50 bags and 84 of the $22.50 bags, for a total of $3430.

you take the amoutand divide it by the total of shipping.

cost=3430 total=124

3430/124=27.66 so the cost of shipment for each bag is $27.66

x.38.50+y.22.50=3430....i
x+y=124....ii
where x and y are the numbers of each kind of golf bags.
Solve the 2 equations to get the answer.

those are the equations you'll be using: 2x+3y=33 3x+2y=31 Use removing to sparkling up for x and y. Multiply each and every by potential of an outstanding selection which will cancel out a variable. for this reason, x is canceled -3(2x+3y=33) +2(3x+2y=31) -6x-9y=-ninety 9 + 6x+4y=sixty two = -5y=-37 so y=7.4 Plug value of y (7.4) into the two equation to get value of x 2x + 3(7.4)=33 ...2x=33-22.2 ...x=5.4 So, the respond is the binders value $7.40 somewhat and the staplers value $5.40 somewhat

x=full size bags
y= collapsable bags

x+y=124
38.5x+22.5y=3430

x=124-y
38.5(124-y)+22.5y=3430

4774-38.5y+22.5y=3430
-16y=-1344
-16y/-16=--1344/-16
y=84

x+y=124
x=40 38.5 x40= 1540
84 x 22.5= 1890
----------------------------------------------------
3430
