Let me think why your laptop cannot access to internet during it's already connected to your router.
1) Because the connection is established --> Wireless is working properly
2) If you cannot access to Internet --> Access Restrictions is configured in Router.
How to configure?
1) Login to Router Administrator, you need to open a command line and use usage as ipconfig and you will see as the following
C:\Documents and Settings\sin.le>ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.102
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
Please open Internet Explorer with the address
http://Default Gateway ~ http://192.168.1.1
You need to know What is User name & Password to login, please configure "Access Restrictions" to allow access
I hope this is your case.

I have the same computer and it's a real pain in my butt. It shows connected but if you look at the photo it will show the connection between the computer and the router, but not the router and the WWW. There is a control panel that sits on your desktop for acer. You will need to click on the icon that shows the Earth. Then you will have to have it run a search for your router or other wireless connections. Follow the set up. It takes a while to get it to actually connect. Trouble is Vista is very confusing compared to XP when it comes to connecting to a wireless router. I ended up just hard wiring my laptop with a Cat5 cable because it kept losing the signal or disconnecting from the wireless router every 20 minutes.

DO THIS SET UP AN IP ADDRESS FOR YOUR COMPUTER>
DONOT GO INTO THE ROUTER SETUP!
You do that after a connection is established.
Go to Start/run type in iprenew click ok. This sets an ip address for the comp.
After that and still not working unplug the router and modem for 15-30 seconds and power them back up.

Assuming your router is configured properly (read the User Manual):
Turn off your Cable / DSL modem for about a minute, then turn it back on and try again.
If that doesn't work, call your Router tech support number and they will help.
If that doesn't work, call your ISP and they will help.

maybe you have to do something similar
look on your keyboard and see if there is a key which has 2 computers on it with wireless lines in between them
then if it is blue look for a key which says Fn
