Sorry but you're so very wrong about so many things It's hard to know where to start.
When a country passes laws barring Atheists from holding public office, they're being discriminated against.
Secondly, the romans did not toss christians into the arena with lions. That's a myth. They put CRIMINALS into the arena. And if they won, they were set free. In fact a Roman Centurion was sent into the arena dressed as a Velite (only a tunic and a short spear) and he was victorious. The Emperor not only set him free, he promoted him and gave him a gift of new armor and weapons.
So please, when you start talking about history, try a teeny bit of research first ok?

I think you need to brush up on both your understanding of current affairs and your history before making such ridiculous claims.
To take just two simple examples, polls in the US indicate that over 80% of people would not elect an atheist to office and the US president himself has said that he does not think atheists should be able to live in the country. It does not get much more discriminatory than that (you can Google for the link on Bush - hundreds of sites carry the story).
And historically, during the Inquisition Christians murdered millions for not accepting their faith. The numbers are quite staggering - estimates have it that in the Spanish Inquisition alone 112 million non believers were killed. And the Inquisition ran for over 600 years.

You should see the crap this jerk JW sent me today and yesterday I had to block him if you would like to see the emails i will be happy to send you examples of what " good Christians " send us because they are ignorant and vicious . The spelling terrible the grammar worse the aggressive and snotty "I am better than you because I know so little " attitude and the you are a sinner and are going to hell you are evil because you talk about things I don't understand . Its all their including the I wish you were dead and burning in hell talk ! Typical of christian charity towards others wouldn't you agree ? Your religion has murdered , raped , and pillaged 5 contentment's and you have the guts to say how you are discriminated against ?Witch hunts , wars of conquest on three continents and I suppose the christian churches in Europe had nothing to do with the murder of half the population of Germany in the years of 1615 -1645 right { years are by memory so only approximate } murders torture and rape of civilians . Your world view sickens me and worse yet is common . Witch hunts and burnings of old women and young girls that wouldn't sleep with the local priest or magistrate murder of Jews and Muslims as heretics { look at the definition some time as that one amuses me how can they consider another belief heretical are they qualified ? } .
wikipedia again how about I make a entry in it saying the moon is made of cheese and post it here as proof after all some stink rat infested church put that there for that reason to prove their lies ! If the devil is the prince of lies that means to me that a christian is a devil !

In some countries, atheists are discriminated against. In other places, it's Christians. In other places, it's Hindus, etc etc.
Like you said, most groups are discriminated against somewhere. So why start a competition about who's the most miserable?

no one should be calling out any group; how can you see the speck in the eye of your neighbor when you don't see the log in your own; he who is without sin , cast the first stone; even as you call it "idiot" is still a creation of God and judgment is God's alone; you can't tell others not to sin and then sin yourself. Two wrongs don't make a right and we will be judged by the same standard that we judge others ; that will be the measure then we will be judge for all our thoughts, words, and deeds ; you can only account for your life and yours alone.

Where exactly are Christians being tortured and killed in any significant numbers and specifically for their religious beliefs?
Are you aware that the majority of stories about Christian persecution during Roman times originated in the Middle Ages and are completely without foundation? Not to mention the fact that once the Christians assumed power, the tables were turned and they spent the next 1,500 years torturing and killing everyone who refused to bow down and worship Jesus.

Personally, I suffer no discrimination whatsoever.
However, some do.
Being rejected on job applications unless they lie (USA)
Being unable to succeed as a politician (USA)
Being ostracised within their community (USA)
Being executed (Islamic Middle East)
I am not complaining - but it seems that you are.

In a word: yes.
In my state of Maryland, it is currently ILLEGAL for me to hold public office.
C'mon....now ask me WHY.
If you said, "Because the law prohibits atheists from holding office", go to the head of the class.
If that's not discrimination, I don't know what is.

Ah! Yes we are. Proof you say? Sure here are a few links to CNN.COM that shows how we are discriminated against.
The two links that I have posted are from CNN.COM even though you can view them on youtube.com.
