I've encountered some who still believe in that theory--which is now what I have considered to be obsolete with the improvements of science.

Now, it doesn't necessarily mean they are absolutely wrong, but there it is very likely they are. Take into account that people who believe the earth was created 6000 years ago have learned this in either private education or at a local church establishment. Those are the only two places besides personal opinion that would encourage the idea.

Still, I myself am not a believer in the 6000 years theory. Religion, again I say the word, is obsolete with the scientific method improving everyday.

Not by magic but by supernatural power, the same power that keeps the sun burning at the right temperature to keep us nice and toasty in the summer and doesn't let it get too extremely cold that we freeze to death in the winter.
And Jesus Christ keeps it from exploding or sending off a huge solar flare causing it to propell at us or out of orbit. So you see even though you don't want to admit it, you see the same supernatural power at work each and every day.

I calculate that there is a 99.99% chance that the planet earth was not created by magic.
