pretty much is now ... damn near impossible to get anything else from major retailers (Dell being the exception and some HP machines but you need to buy direct ) ... Hopefullt SP1 for Vista will sort a lot of the Pesky Gremlins out

Jack K is right. That's pretty typical of MicroSlave... they just get the bugs worked out of an operating system and then they inflict the next generation of crap on the masses. But I guess I shouldn't complain... I'll be making $$$ by fixing peoples' systems for years to come.

No way not until demand for windows Xp decreases and mor software is compatible wif it or the people can't afford vista and will start to make pirated versions of it and there wil be alot of trouble.u should also try out the new mac leopard os x it is the new windows vista!

Yeah, pretty much. After the end of June '08, most OEMs (Dell, Gateway, Toshiba, etc..) will no longer be permitted to sell copies of Windows XP on new computers. After that, you will probably only be able to get a new computer with XP from your local computer store.

do you mean to ask wether it will be the default on new PCs? well if that's the question, it already is except you specifically ask otherwise!
Microsoft will continue to support XP though, no date has been announced for XP retirement.
Vista is still rubbish at the moment so a couple of months / years are still needed to pack and patch it.
