Whith all the differnt view points of the bible how can you tell if yours is right?

No one can tell. We are not omniscient.

I read the Bible as much as possible from the writer's perspective and check other ancient documents against what the writers are claiming.

Doing this is enough to verify most of the Bible.

I also try other means, for instance, I can prove with nothing more than the concept of "line of sight" that the flood of Genesis was local, and that's exactly what the writer intended for us to understand.

("Line of sight" is a way of measuring how far away the horizon is from your point of view. There are line of sight calculators on the web if you're interested.)

Theories are checked against observable evidence. They have no evidence and as to whether they have "theories" is also questionable. Superstition is not theory.

I keep my theories in the fridge and make sure they are kept below 4 deg.C.
