Any chance my Minolta dimage Z5 will survive a dip in the pool.
No signs of life despite CPR.

sounds like you need one of those new waterproof digital cameras by Olympus

R.I.P. Minolta Z5. There is a 99% chance it is now useful only as a paperweight.

You should be able to find a replacement on ebay or perhaps its time to step up to a DSLR. If so, take a look at the Sony A100 and newly introduced A700.

If the camera was off when you dropped it into the pool, than you have a chance of survival, but than you tried to turn it on. Which accessed the battery which now caused sparking leading to the interface of the camera being ruined for good. If you dropped it while it was on then im sorry but =( its gone for good.

Let it dry completely (a couple of weeks) and then take it to a professional that cleans repairs cameras if it still does not work.
