I have to but some modulator, but I need to know if my tv has an f plug or an s plug. It only has one place for my cable to go in, and no place to put dvd or vcr cables.

An F connector is the one that looks like your CATV or Satellite connectoin. An S connector is a small multipin connector that looks similar to a PS2 keyboard cable.

Try this link to see the two:

Your query is a little vague but here goes.

I'm guessing here, but since you mentioned a modulator, I'm assuming that you're trying to connect a DVD player to a TV with only an RF input. If that's the case then the modulator should put out an "F-plug" signal.

An F-connector is what's on your cable or antenna feed from the wall. It has a sharp pointy wire coming out of the end of it. This carries the analog RF (radio frequency) signal which has both audio and video on it.

An S-video connector has 4 small pins and a plastic block coming out of it. S-video only carries the video (picture) signal. One (mono) or two (stereo) additional cables carry the audio.

If your TV had an S-Video input, it would almost surely have audio inputs as well.

Sounds like a coaxial plug to me. You will need to get something like this: http://www.radioshack.com/sm-rf-modulatorvideo-component-adapter--pi-2103095.html

an RF modulator. You plug the DVD or VCR cables into that box and the box into the tv.

I don't know what an F plug is, but an S plug might be S-Video? It doesn't sound like your tv has that. But every tv has Coaxial (Ant/Cable in) plug.
