People are people. There are some Atheists who are very positive people, and I know a great many Christians who are not.
I hope you learned something.

An example. Two neighbors, living in tornado alley. They see together, on the nightly news, that a tornado is coming. The two men go to their seperate homes, with their seperate families. The first man, a devout christian, takes faith that the lord will protect him and his family, and, like every other night, prays before bed, adding in his concerns about the tornado. He then, faithful and at ease, goes to bed and sleeps easy. The second man, and athiest, and rather negative, assumes the worst. He takes his family, some food, supplies, and rover, and goes inot the storm shelter in his basement. Concerned and anxious, he doesn't sleep. At three o'clock in the morning, the tornado strikes, destroying both homes. The christian man, and his family, sleeping peacefully, did not wake up until it was far too late, and were killed. The cynical, negative, but prepared, athiest, with his family, survived the night, protected by the thick walls of the basement. This is not neccesarily true story, but it may as well be. In all my years, as far as I have seen, being deout, and faithful to the lord provides no extra protection frm nature, or man's own evils. The good kind, old catholic is robbed at the grocery store, and the negative, pesimistic old man, packed heat, and shot the bastard who tried to knife him in an alleyway.

I am not an atheist. I am a Christian. I am married to a Buddhist, who was formerly a druid.
Are you a christian? I think you probably are, this question has the stink of corrupt Christianity, that is spreading rampantly.
Atheists aren't negative, this question makes no logical sense at all, and is only another attempt to justify your unwillingness to forgive god for making someone who is different than you. Jesus would not approve.

Atheists are by no means negative about everything; they are positive in their belief that the world is understanable, that one need not posit unknowable or supernatural effects to explain how it works, and that life is worth living. All of which suits me just fine.

It is absolutely ridiculous that someone would propose that a person who puts in the effort to be an active member of the Yahoo Answers community does not want to learn something.

Wow, here comes another delusional fundie generalizing again. But you're right about one thing, my non-friend: We are VERY negative about your weird "holy book" because it isn't even a good work of fiction. And I must admit that I smirk a bit now and then, knowing that you actually believe that it contains the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me Sky Daddy.

I always thought religious types were negative. It always seemed to me that your god is always telling you that you were inherently evil and were eternally indebted to him/her/it, and there was no way to repay that debt in life. That to me, seems negative and somewhat barbaric. Also, it seems that people go to war over their god and beliefs, also a negative, along with keeping the masses poor while the church is rolling in the dough. It just seems that religion is inherently negative.
