appointment with someone who forgot to turn up just once? I'm not talking about a hairdresser who is like the Napoleon Perdis of makeup. He's just a hair-stylist who happens to own his own salon.

I should have mentioned that this was a $25 cut for my son.

Yes. My husband set up an appointment with a lady who owns her own salon and because of an emergency at work had to cancel 3 hours before the appointment. She then rescheduled the appointment for 3 weeks later. When the time came, my husband had to have surgery and let her know 3 days in advance. When he tried to rescedule, she wouldn't let him. We all found a new hairdresser. (At the time, 4 in our family used her. She lost all of our business over this.)

Yes, I work at a salon, and the stylists do have the right to refuse service to anyone as long as it is not based on racial differences. Their time is money, and apparently he thinks your not worth his time.

Still no matter who it was for, he apparently feels your whole family are flakes and he doesn't want to make an appointment for you and worry if your are going to show are not. Fortunately you live in a free country, and you can take your business eleswhere, I'm sure someone else will be glad to take your money.

Yes and, although it seems a bit extreme, I do get it. When you are a no show, a slot goes unused and the person is out the money. Although it doesn't seem to be a big deal to miss an appointment, realise you also "robbed" him of the opportunity to earn money. He could've likely booked another person and made cash. How would you feel?

Otherwise, offer to pay for the missed appointment. Don't want to? Feel ripped off? Now you get it.

Yes this is possible and it is the hairdresser's right, he's probably the type of person who doesn't like being stood up because of (1) price (2) he lost his chance to earn money on that time alotted to you but since you didn't turn up he could have been informed earlier so he could have squeeze someone in that time slot so he could have earned money. Or maybe it is in his nature not to forgive. Why don't you go to other hairdressers. Maybe its time to move on to another hairdresser coz this guy sounds arrogant
