Seriously as an atheist, raised by a Jewish mother:

"Merry Christmas!"

Is anyone really offended by Merry Christmas?

I personally don't get offended by it, and am married to an atheist. We put up a small tree and exchange gifts and wish each other a Merry Christmas. On the other hand we live in a mixed society of different faiths and there are many people who do not observe or believe in the religious significance of Christmas so they may feel uncomfortable when they are wished a Merry Christmas. I think a good way to handle that if you are working with the public is a simple neutral "Happy Holidays"

I am offended. Mysticism is the antithesis of reason. "Christmas" refers to a preposterous 100% fictional manipulative tacked onto your bible story that should be an embarrassment to all thinking, reasoning human beings. How dare those religious leaders (liars) have done that to us!? All the innocent people enslaved by their grabbing for unearned power using mystical nonsense as a threat and call to violence.

You can have your rituals, but only if they pertain to healthy psychological needs, not demeaning or mystical ones. Potluck dinner with family from across the country, Fine!

Giving gifts. I don't think that's very healthy? Give a loan to hard working friends or family as an investment, earning interest, but just giving to the lazy, the beggars, the criminals and the empty headed fools, that is not what makes the world go around. That doesn't help anyone.

I find it really sad that people are offended by other holidays. I tell my Jewish friends, "Happy Hannukah!" and wish my Asian friends a happy new years when they're comes about. What's the big deal about a "Merry Christmas?"

No, I love Christmas. Even though the exact date of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is lost and forgotten and December 25 was declared by the early Christian church as Christmas day because they want to “christainize” a very popular pagan festival during winter in their time, it does not matter. December 25 as Christmas day gives us a chance to show and to express our gratitude to God, our Heavenly Father for His mercy, love, care and compassion, because He gave the whole world and mankind the greatest gift of all- His son, Jesus Christ, our lord and savior. The prophecy has fulfilled! A great reason to celebrate! God bless!
All glories to God and to Lord Jesus Christ!
Merry Christmas to everyone!
