Sorry to break the news, your going to have to take the wood stove out to be sand blasted or do it your self with some kind of paint remover and then repaint it with the high temp paint

No. The regular paint would still be there and burn off, taking the high temp paint with it.

no, because the low temperature paint will break down and not provide a good surface for the hi temp paint
