Oh my name it is nothin'
My age it means less
The country I come from
Is called the Midwest
I's taught and brought up there
The laws to abide
And that land that I live in
Has God on its side.

Oh the history books tell it
They tell it so well
The cavalries charged
The Indians fell
The cavalries charged
The Indians died
Oh the country was young
With God on its side.

Oh the Spanish-American
War had its day
And the Civil War too
Was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes
I's made to memorize
With guns in their hands
And God on their side.

Oh the First World War, boys
It closed out its fate
The reason for fighting
I never got straight
But I learned to accept it
Accept it with pride
For you don't count the dead
When God's on your side.

When the Second World War
Came to an end
We forgave the Germans
And we were friends
Though they murdered six million
In the ovens they fried
The Germans now too
Have God on their side.

I've learned to hate Russians
All through my whole life
If another war starts
It's them we must fight
To hate them and fear them
To run and to hide
And accept it all bravely
With God on my side.

But now we got weapons
Of the chemical dust
If fire them we're forced to
Then fire them we must
One push of the button
And a shot the world wide
And you never ask questions
When God's on your side.

In a many dark hour
I've been thinkin' about this
That Jesus Christ
Was betrayed by a kiss
But I can't think for you
You'll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot
Had God on his side.

So now as I'm leavin'
I'm weary as Hell
The confusion I'm feelin'
Ain't no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God's on our side
He'll stop the next war.

in most religions they believe in supporting whatever side your country is for

like if you're from iraq then your right
and if your from the us then you're right
that way no one's wrong and war can go on easily without upsetting religious beliefs

"sorry for the inturpretation"

no really i don't think they're for war
as far as i'm concerned you're just twisting beliefs around if you're makeing it out to be a holy war

like it says here
it says here

wtf does that take away everything jesus did
or buddah or whoever else
(i'm speaking of the major one's here)
wern't they signes of peace
or something
i don't know
but it's really rediculas
and i was scared too when the war happened
but i didn't get all like that then turn around and blame it one the president

From a Christian standpoint, God does not support war in any way or for any purpose. Therefore, God is not on either side of the war.

If you mean God the Holy Father, He washed His hands of human kind when He sent His Son, metaphoric hands that is. Jesus does not support wars. He supports those that love and trust in Him.

do no longer ignore, God instructed Bush (Oh, particular.. he *particularly* instructed him.. basically ask Bush!) to deliver our troops there. And for this reason, I presume between this is precise: a million. God helps the troops 2. God would not help the troops, and due to this he had them sent to Iraq. Interpret as you like.

God supports many wars in the Bible and He seems to often side with the Jews. A few cases He made it so the Jews lost to teach them a lesson, but sometimes God made it so they went 20,000-0 on the killing scoreboard.

Judging by this war, God isn't real and the world is run by money.

First we are there to fight terrorists. There are no Iraqi citizens dressed up as soldiers fighting us. Terrorists are cowards that way so that when their side loses that is the end. And then all the citizens of a country can rebuild again. Therefore it is not a war in the conventional sense.

I know God would support those who fight against the terrorists who do not value you human life at all. For they are like a disease like cancer. It has not feelings for the human body. They only need it to destroy it.

God supports the USA, Allah supports Iraq.
(But, of course, they're actually both the same thing.)

God supports the US, because G.W. Bush said God told him to invade Iraq, and G.W. wouldn't lie.
