I have a US 9V AC power supply that came with a Digitech Whammy pedal, can I use this with a $10 adaptor that will convert the plug or do I need a transformer to convert voltage?

No. No. Yes. It will probably be cheaper to just buy the correct power power supply.

Ignore most of those previous answers. Most electrical devices are made for use worldwide, so you should carefully check the specs and you will probably find that it will work with voltages from 110 to 220 and frequencies from 50 to 60 hz. I have checked every nine volt supply I own and they all will operate with the previously mentioned voltages, so an adapter is probably all you need...but check the specs, they are usually on the device, in extrememly small print.

You will need a transformer(a step down TR 220V/110V).Also, if you don't want to use so many TR just buy a 220V to 9V AC power supply, but you must find out what current it must be(9V/???mA).
