I'm very sorry to here that your brother died. If you were standing next to me, I would give you a loving hug. Please dont let death cause you to loose your faith. First of all, we are all going to die. And we all die from different reasons. If you aren't happy with your church, then try another one. Perhaps this is a time when you just need to get closer to God for peace and closure. Wishy washy wont help you. But dont give up on God. You cant get close to God with wishy washy. Whether in church or in a personal search. The wrong thing to do now is walk away. You need to do the opposite.

Independent Fundamental Baptist church!!! The only chhurch I have found that studies and learns the Bible, from the Bible. You do not need the Book of Latter Day Saints, Jesus was never here in the States. Jesus said not to add nor take away from the Bible. There is no more comforting book than the Bible and to help you with that would be a good church along with good fellowship of strong brothers and sisters in Christ. And IFB'ersare any thing but wishy-washy. Most people do not like my answers because I am firm in my beliefs and I take a stand, they can, but I cannot for some reason. I am offensive. I can help you find a good church in your area. You can go to my profile, and e-mail me. But I will also pray for your comfort and faith. God bless.

There was an article about 8 years ago, where at one point they "considered" going back to mama.
The King James is my solace. Read the book of Philippians.
I'm sorry to hear of the lost of your brother.
Consider trying a Independent Fundamental Baptist church. You will never regret it! I promise that you won't have to worry about being wishy-washy with God's Word.
From the Bible alone, this is what we believe (below):

I don't want to push you away from your faith, but perhaps its time for you to have a one on one conversation with God. You definitely have tough questions that I don't think you would except the answers from someone else but him. When I have a tough question or just having trouble, I always go out someone alone like the woods. In this place I can get real close with God and ask him what ever it is I need to ask. Let it out. This is something I think you need to do on your own though. It brought me closer to the Lord, perhaps it will help you too.

I think quite a few people have your feelings on this matter. In an attempt to improve attendances and to recruit more ministers they have introduced women into the clergy, and a few of them are ignoring bible teachings in consenting to some types of sexual behaviour.
I'm C of E but I'm looking very closely at the stability and traditions of the RC Church particularly in the provision they give to family lifestyles.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I know first hand that loss of a loved one is hard to deal with. In answer to your question, all churches let people down at moments like this. That's the big lie. They promise to make this type of situation easier, but they don't.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that even when our bodies die, our spirits are still alive, and all people will be resurrected and live again, through the power of Jesus Christ. I hope you can find peace and comfort with your family and friends. Even if you don't feel like going to church, you might still be interested in reading scripture. I often find it comforting to read scripture. God bless.
P.S. If you are interested, here is a website where you can find some answers to some of life's most important questions: mormon.org.

Loosing your faith and getting fed up with a church are two different things. Churches try to equate them because they want to keep you coming along, but they are quite different things. Another thing churches try to do is to persuade you that they are your only 'portal' to God and that their buildings are the place where he dwells. All these ideas are non-biblical rubbish. Jesus is right with you 24/7 if you believe in him.

Seek and ye shall find.
My advice to you is to try something different; different churches or religious groups. Keep your mind open, and explore the possibilities. You might be surprised by what you will find.
I am sincerely sorry for the loss of your brother. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Read the bible's account of Jesus' resurrecting Lazarus. You can find it in your Bible at John chapter 11. Jesus was very upset at the loss of his close friend but he told his disciples that Lazarus was only sleeping. He likened Death to sleep because through God's power people could be awakened. This account as well as other similar accounts of resurrection in the Bible have given millions of people hope of seeing their dead loved ones again.
I believe that the only faith that can give you real answers are Jehovah's Witnesses. This will probably get me a few thumbs down but please dont let this put you off. The next time one comes to your door, why dont you ask them about the subject. Please read the following article for comfort.
