We can't just whip it out and go. We have to get comfy, pee, clean up, get dressed, wash our hands. Men just pee.

The real reason is that women are peculiar in that they do not treat a trip to the toilet as a mere function like men do, they treat it as a kind of pilgrimage where they can socialise with their own kind and gossip and b.itch about other women and generally faff around with their hair and makeup and express their extraordinary vanity by looking at themselves in the mirror.

urinals take up about 1/10th of the space that a stall takes up. mens bathrooms have many many urinals scrunched together plus a few stalls. so while the mens bathroom can facilitate say, 12 people at one time, a womens bathroom of the same size would only be able to facilitate 4 or 5. men are also very fast in the bathroom

That just depends on where you are and how crowded it is or how large of a bathroom it is. I've been in places where it's a huge bathroom, many stales etc and it's packed in the guys room. But guys probably are a little fast since they just unload the hose and are done. But if they are going number 2- get out. All kinds of noises happen in there and I always want to ask "Are ok over there?"

Aside from it taking longer to undo clothing, etc., don't women also socialize in the toilet? Why do they usually go in teams? And then, there is the obligatory make-up check, the surgical hand-scrub. It all takes time!!

In addition to what others have said, think about the extra time spent for our "special" time of the month!
Also, when women wear pantyhose, extra time is required.
And, we use toilet paper after each "activity." Guys usually just use paper after one activity...

Since you can squeeze in more urinals than toilets, often there is a toilet disparity so demand exceeds supply for ladies' toilets.

Men just go in, do their business standing up, and come back out. Women hang out in there, fix their makeup, talk to their friends and take up space for those of us who want to do our business, wash our hands and go.

Women have to sit and that part takes time to unzip and sit.
Guys have the pee trough and it is not uncommon to see six guys whizzing away
