I heard that you could stab someone in the brain and they would not feel it. Is that true? Does the brain not have nerves? From what I understand, you basically feel pain because of nerves.

You do not watch Oprah then? Had a man on that who opened the front door to his home and bang. Moreover, he walked to ER and the Doc's did not believe what they were seeing, let alone how they were going to help him. The man survived, no brain damage did not feel the knife going in and they have X-rays of how deep the knife went in. It was on her Medical Miracle Program! It is true, Pain is what? If you are in pain now, because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so am in constant pain, would your pain be more or less than mine? Can we measure pain? Is their a machine that says 'OMG she has hit ten on the pain scale?' NO! Pain is 'perceived' by the Brain, which explains why people can cut their own arms off if it mean survival! The Brain cannot feel pain, it just perceives pain! Yes and perceptions can be wrong!

for the answer on the brain and not the skin and all that, yes. its true your Brain doesn't feel. and yes you feel pain because of nerves but the nerves run through your body and to your brain and then your brain tells you that it hurts. your cerebrum is the nerve central. put it this way if you had someone with their head open exposing their brain (for some reason, we'll live that one to you) you can poke at their brain and they will not know it for the most part.

.It is partially true as one response says. Since it isn't designed too be touched, it really doesn't feel pain. Much as if you were to touch your heart, liver, kidney or any internal part. They do not have the touch receptors that you would call feeling. There have been a lot of cases where people have been shot, stabbed, or penetrated by sharp objects in the head and didn't feel a thing. But apart of that could be shock.

Well it depends on which part of brain you stab. If you stab the cerebrum you would not feel any pain at all. As a matter of fact, a doctor can do surgery on your cerebrum and you can be awake and talk to the doctor while he is doing the surgery. But please do not try to stab yourself in the brain LOL.

Just because you don't think your stressed out doesn't mean you couldn't have high blood pressure it varies every day. Just taking it one day with a good reading isn't enough, have it taken over a series of days. Don't use that thing at the drug store either, have the doctor check it out.
