How come Ford cant seem to build a decent car?

who knows? I've been wondering that for a long time now. I dont think they will EVER be up to par as a Honda or Toyota. and Ford (as well as Dodge and Chevy) keep losing sales and money every year. I think in about 50 years there wont be such a thing as an American car company. eventually they will be gone

HHMMMMMMM when was the last time you actually looked into real world automotive news. Ford builds BETTER cars than Toyota and Honda, Don't believe me go do some reading in the Consumer Reports. F-series isn't the #1 selling truck for over 30 years straight because they are junk.

Well considering that Ford gained the most in the last year as far as quality is concerned I'd say that the do build some decent cars. Now if you don't like the styling, that's one thing. If you don't like the horsepower, that's another. I think that they build decent vehicles, and I've never seemed to have more or less problems than any of my freinds when vehicles are concerned.

They do build decent cars... they just don't sell them here. The Mondeo and the new Focus RS are not only decent cars but actually quite successful in Europe. European Fords look great, are relatively reliable and, most importantly, don't spontaneously combust. I guess Ford needs to send the better cars to Europe because we still settle for the crap they give us here.

Ford and GM cars are some of the best on the road. They get a bad rap, because people have become snobs and only want foreign cars.

If look at independent sources of quality indicators, the domestics run neck and neck with the imports.

sorry but this is a dumb question. I have a 98 explorer and it runs great. I see so many more fords on the raod, i mean its not fair. J.D power have given ford awards many times and recent to. The mustang is an incredible car along with e f series taurus edge. Now they have hybrids.

Are you seriously retarded? The Mustang has some award, either highest customer satisfaction or highest quality of sporty midsize cars, and the Ford Fusion is one of the most reliable cars you can buy. And the new Taurus is hardly out but it's getting very good reviews.

Very much an opinion! I have seen first hand that Ford has built some great cars like the crown victoria. I had one that was a 1991 and it lived for 334,000 miles without major engine repairs. Sure Ford has built some junk like tempos,pintos, contours...Ect. But that is what consumer reports is for. Do research when you look for a car it is a major investment!

The Taurus was the number one selling sedan for years in a row. and the new Taurus is the first car the receive perfect scores in crash tests. and the mustangs are selling like hot cakes. If you ask me, ford cars are the better of American cars

i dont know how u can say that ford has descent cars like the mustang its obviously a good dependacle car or else it wouldnt be the best sellin sports car its a great car inside and out and then they have their trucks they are the best most powerful trucks out there.
