Well one reason for anyone who stays in her job is the contentment and happiness that she gets.....so if you are not happy where you are anymore then better quit the job...it makes a lot of difference when you enjoy the place you are inm the job that you do, the people around you, all matters actually......and besides your Mom approved already so its ok...and for someone like you who has the reason to work then I am sure you will always find a job for yourself....ok???

You are in a no win situation. If you stay at the job you will be required to work weekends and put up with a department head that you have a hard time with.
Since you had told your jerkier boss three weeks ago you had plans to go out of town.
Go up to him and remind him of this. When he tells you are on the clock for the weekend. Tell him you are giving him notice right now. And say you quit in order to get you time off you requested 3 weeks ago. And BTW do it in front of several witnesses. It will give it more impact.

Sounds like there are more dislikes than likes. It seems that you can have fun, hang out with the people you work with, and know your duties without working at JcPenny's.

The question is moreso whether or not you need the money and whether you value the money that you are making more than spending time with your friends and doing well in school.

It's a trade off and you need to figure out what is more important to you. I personally think if you can afford not working financially, you should have fun and enjoy now. You'll be working plenty more after you graduate college!

For whatever decision you have taken, there is another choice you can make to best use of this time. This is called opportunity cost.
If you leave this job, check where else can you get the job and how much extra $$ you will make there when accounting for gas and other emotional expenses.
Not knowing the details at this time, it feels like it will be worth looking for a new job.

You could do worse. I would stay there until after at least Christmas. Usually after the holidays places like that calm back down and return to normal. Only if it is still unbearable in January would I quit if I were you. Give it a little bit longer.

If u want to quit, try to find somethign else first, where all the dislikes won't be an option.

Chances are the dislikes are going to be the same, no matter what job u get, so keep that in mind. Also, getting more than minimum wage, at ur age might be great.

good luck./

It all depends on if you NEED the money or not. If the money is an option, and your mom wants you to quit......well go ahead. Just remember tho that when you get in the real world...jobs are not always convinient, and you will have jerk bosses all the time!!! Good luck!

No don't quit your job until you find a new one. If your still in school your probably pretty young. This is life. Stay in school and get a better job or CAREER. If not get used to crappy retail and low paying gigs. Hang in there!
