God is Santa for adults.

Whatever "God" people may believe in, there are often specific practices that are written into the scriptures of their belief that, when practiced, give them certain spiritual feelings. This is usually a strong reinforcement of their belief in god, whereas Santa Clause doesn't have people worshiping him according to some formal dogma so people often don't believe in him past a certain age. So if that was an honest question, you have an answer.

We KNOW Santa is not real and we KNOW that someone purposely created him. We do NOT know if someone purposely created G-d. Since it has been passed down for many many generations (since the dawn of man) that G-d is real we have no reason to doubt otherwise. Comparably Santa has been continually passed down to generations as fake but fun for kids. To be fair though - if people actually decided to randomly believe Santa was real (which makes no sense and would not happen) and started passing it on to their kids and continuing the lie never telling them the truth. Then eventually yes, people would believe in Santa as real too. But this would not happen because we KNOW Santa is fake and obviously the men and women back in Biblical times knew G-d was real so passed him on as real to their children.

Don't compare Santa to that phony, at least Santa gives me stuff; he lands on my roof with the magic reindeer and the sleigh and he goes down the chimney and puts all kinds of cool stuff under the pine tree that is my living room for some reason. How do I know all this; my mom told me, so it has to be true, mommy doesn't lie!
