I'd actually have to say Christianity. One of the main reasons is because Christians were generally very hostile toward the Jews but the Muslims traditionally granted them citizenship (although they were denied some rights like being able to testify in court against Muslims).
In its early history Islam was more violent than Christianity, without a doubt.
In what we may call middle history, from 1000 to 1900 Christianity was more violent. And in the modern era Islam has again been more violent.
I say this as a believer in Christianity and a history major.
Now, a violent history does not make someone now bad. For instance Germany has a bad history, that does not make all Germans bad. The Catholic Church has done some pretty nasty things, but that does not make all Catholics bad. My Catholic great-grandma is one of the most kind, peaceful, humble people I know. Only those who commit a crime are guilty of it.

Christianity uses the Atomic bomb to kill massive number of innocent civilians in Japan. It should not be condone or even allow but Christians have no regrets at all. This shows the true color of Christianity. Now that is from a Christian nation.
Islam is not much better. Same violent nature because both worship the same violent God that asks a father to kill his own young son to test him for faith when there is no need to test as God knew all there is to know. The violent comes from the religion itself and from the God from such religions. Very sad indeed.
Now humans if they really need to worship something should find a better more peaceful religion to worship. Buddhism might be a good choice but make sure there is no God involved because when there is a God involved, violent is not far behind.

Considering that Islam builds on Christianity (Muhammad being the "final prophet"), I'd say they both share a violent and excessively intolerant history.

Christianity has had 2000 years of holding the title alone.
Islam is now coming up to claim that title, and it's working hard at it too. I predict that it will meet and surpass the murderous deeds of Christianity in the not too distant future.
Christianity had to do it for most of their history without modern conveniences, but Islam will be able to take advantage of our modern day technology to catch up in no time.

Hard to say because they shared so much violence, but Christianity got a pretty good leg up in the inquisition, etc.
That said, Islam's on the fast-track now. Like all "right" religions it appears she'll have to get her come-uppance before she finds her peaceable self. Unfortunately that will be costly yet.

Hello, OP:
It as a Judgment of God that Islam punished Christians for their murders. You can read "the Rise, Decline, and Death of Islam as Predicted in the Bible" at www.revelado.org/islam.htm

Both wade in the blood of millions of innocents. Both murder Jews and other non-Christians or non-Muslims.
Had Islam been more modernized throughout history, it would have "won the race for most kills", it's just that Christianity existed a bit longer than Islam.
Both are terribly hypocritical creeds that "preach for peace", yet have no qualms about slaughtering millions and millions to achieve their goal.
