i had been seeing a lot of the eye of horus. i got a random necklace of out a machine with the left eye, then i started seeing the eye everywhere. on a cd my mom wanted for xmas, on the back of a lady's neck, on a book i had to check out at the library. the eye showed up everywhere, and does weekly. then i found a random book on ancient egpyt in this store called ross, and i found there also a cat statue that looks like baset, that i was immediately drawn to, and a small coffin that looks egpyptian, even though its all made in china. lol. the point is, i have been drawn to the ancient egyptian faith, and its like its sending me signs. has anybody else experienced these kinds of signs? do you know a lot about the ancient egyptians, the left eye of horus, or the cat gods? thanks.

The word AMEN was brought out of Egypt with the Exodus. It was a word of prayer to the pharaoh, who the Egyptians considered to be a god. There were four pharaohs between the 16th and 14 Century BC with Amen in their names. Amenhotep 1 & 2, Amenophis and don't forget AmenRa. Most famous is TutankhAmen the boy king. A pharaohs name is spoken every time we end a prayer. Maybe that why you feel influenced.

I went car shopping with a friend, and one of the cars we looked at was a Hyundai. I used to be a car buff, but stopped paying attention when they all started looking pretty much the same, so I had no idea what a Hyundai looked like until then. After that, I saw Hyundais everywhere. I'd often see several Hyundais waiting at a traffic light.
If I were superstitious, I could have created some story about why I was suddenly seeing so many Hyundais. Instead, I realized that, once I knew what to look for, I was more likely to notice Hyundais. I now refer to it as "The Hyundai Effect."

yes i have been called to shamanism.
i have a whole library on the subject, i have several books on history, myths and i even have The Book of The Dead (doesn't bring ancient mummies back to life). I used to be able to write fluently in hieroglphs (simple letters not much more complex). if you have any specific questions on it feel free to ask. i can remember lots of stories.
the story of the Eye of Horus or Wadjet Eye is that Osiris was tricked by his brother Set and got him into a basket, chopped him up and his wife Isis (who was his sister) found all of Osiris' body parts on the Nile and put him back together and created the first mummy. According to legend Osiris' semen impregnated Isis after he died and she later gave birth to Horus. Horus grew up and fought against Set and lost his eye during the encounter. One of the gods restored it back.

Joseph Campbell recounts the popular egyptian story about Isis and Osiris in his "The Power of Myth" lecture series on video Part 4/5 Love and the Goddess...
I guess it foretells the resurrection myth...

The eye of Horus is symbolic of Horus, Isis (His mother) and Osiris (his father).
If you feel connected, then just start learning and reading about them. When I studied Kemetic, I read a good bit of the book of the dead. Egyptian lore is pretty easy to find and most of it is decently reliable.

Interestingly, it is supposed that the myth of Jesus is derived from the ancient story of Horus (among others). His story is very similar. However, the legend of Horus predates the legend of Jesus by a couple thousand years. :)

No your not, many people throughout the world still follow the Isis religion. I personally know of 2 people who are a part of the 'Star of Isis' church, but i am unable to tell you more about it as its a private religion & its by invitation only (bit like the Masons organisation, secret). Also i have read that much of the story of the Christian religion is based on the ancient beliefs of Isis, Osirus & Horus. I do know that the people i met were kindly & thoughtful people. I myself believe in the one God, i'm a Christian, but that has not stopped me from paying my respects, saying a prayer, & leaving flowers on the alter of the temples at Philea each time i go, it is after all the temple of the Goddess of love. My husband who is an Egyptian Muslim (i'm English), also paid his respects last time we visited.
