I would have to ask you and Nigel, "Why not?" Unlike GM, Ford used the same head configuration from beginning to end.

If it were an issue, Edelbrock manifolds would have year restrictions other than EGR plates.

Yes, you can bolt on a carbureted manifold. I've done it a few times. The basic head/block configuration of the 351W from the beginning of production until the end. From 1969 to 1997. The only exception was the extra intake bolt holes in the very earliest engines. You wouldn't want to use one of those intakes, folks have reported that you don't need to use the bolt holes but may have EGR leaks because of them.
If you are using an aftermarket intake, this isn't a concern.
The only time you should have any surface matching problems is if the block has been "decked". This is an extra $200 or so step in a rebuild process where the head mounting surfaces are ground down some to correct an alignment problem or to raise compression of the engine. This is actually pretty rarely down. Any machine shop cabaple of doing so knows the intake should also be slightly cut afterwards after the process so it will still line up with the heads correctly. If you swap a fresh intake on to such an engine you might have leaks and fitment problems. Any competent machine shop should be able to shave your intake to fit correctly if this has been determined to be a problem. And obviously an intake shaved to fit such an engine won't work too well for the next guy whose engine is still stock.

Not so fast 1970 to 1973 351w had four more bolt holes two per side than did 1974 and up and where the only small block to use a spread bore carb pattern, you can still use the intake by tapping the four extra holes and using 74 and later gaskets but the intake angle is a couple of degrees off and creates a cavitation in the intake runner of the head and low end torque suffers greatly, but it will fire and run but poorly.

yes it fits. I put a Edelbrock carb manifold on a 93 351w out of a f250.
