I'm going out of town and I won't have time to bake when I get there, so I'm going to bake a cheesecake for some relatives and take it with me. . .on the two hour drive home, lol. How can I transport this cheesecake without it turning to a chocolate truffle goopy mess?

The best way to transport it would be to put your cheesecake on a plate or cardboard round that is not slippery, then put it into a cake box. Set the box on the floor of your car and make sure your heater is not on or set on high. A cheesecake will not melt like ice cream, I've had them out on the counter longer than a couple of hours and it was perfectly fine. Just make sure you refrigerated overnight or several hours. Have a safe drive!

I would keep the cheesecake in the spring form pan, chilled in the refrigerator and when you're ready to leave, place it in a small portable cooler. When you
arrive at your destination, place the cheesecake on a plate, remove the outer part of the spring form pan.
Your cake is ready to serve. Bon Appetit !

I agree with Daisyfay. I'll just add that you should put some frozen bottles of water or some of the blue ice packets in the cooler. No ice!

In your lap! Better safe then sorry! Unless you are driving by yourself, in that case, I've always found the passenger seat (and some VERY careful driving) to be good enough...

The absolute safest way to transport cheesecake is in your stomach. :D

(Sorry, obviously not a good answer to your question.)
