There's no visible dislocation and she doesn't want to ice it.

Well, personal experience:

My 6 yr old and 11 yr old were rough housing, and the 11 yr old accidentally stepped on the 6 yr old's arm. He wailed, I of course checked it, and kissed it better.

Each day, he kept complaining, and when you'd bump that arm, he'd scream.

Well, short story, I finally took him in almost a week later, and, low and behold, it was broken. Poor kid had to go around with an uncast broken arm for 5 days! Seriously, I felt like a terrible mother.

There literally looked like nothing was wrong with it. A couple days after it happened there was a small bruise, very light, but that was it.
And this was after my 7 yr old broke his arm, and it was shaped like a "U".

Hm....2 kids with broken arms....not sounding like a good mommy here, huh?? LOL.

I'd take her in.
Better safe than sorry.

just because the break isnt visible doesnt mean there isnt one

when i was 12 i fell skating my arm didnt swell till the next day nor did it even hurt
we went to the doc and found out i cracked my wrist, jammed my elbow and dislocated my shoulder

if she says it hurts it's better to take her to the doctor and have there be nothing wrong than to not take her and have an unknown break heal baddly

of course she doesnt want ice on it it's hurts and the ice is cold, she's only 2 she has no idea what the ice will do for her

this is also a sign that she needs a toddler bed rather than a crib that away this wont happen again

I can see why some people don't like co-sleeping. I, for one, can not get a decent nice sleep and neither can my husband which means it is not a long term solution. Yes, she does need lots of cuddles at this young age, but it doesn't mean she needs to sleep with you. We did a lot of cuddling to sleep for the first 3 to 4 months too, but now (6 mths) she goes to sleep on her own. As you say, once shes asleep she can sleep 10 hours.... that's brilliant. She just needs to learn to go to sleep in the crib by herself and then she'll be able to self soothe and put herself back to sleep when she wakes after 20/40 mins. You'll have to be persistent with putting her in the crib and maybe try pat her to sleep rather than picking her up and only pick her up when the crying is really screaming. I would start doing this for day time sleeps initially ..... like 9am in the morning when she is going down for her first sleep. That way she isn't overtired and is more likely to respond by going to sleep rather than screaming. Also, does she suck her thumb or have a pacifier of some sort. My daughter sucks her thumb, but I also give her a small piece of muslin wrap which she likes to hold on to and I found it helps her get back to sleep when she wakes. Good LUCK!

Are you DUMB ? A 21 Month Old Falls Out Of her Crib And She Says Her Arm Hurts But There Are No Visible Breaks ??? How about if she was bleeding internally, there would be no Visible blood coming out ???

Take her to the ER NOW? The fact you didn't even call the babies doctor or even take her to the ER and have to sit here and asks shows very little of yourself.

I am sorry if it seems harsh but for what I had to go through to get my have my daughter there is NO EXCUSE.

Take the child to the doctor. A fracture doesn't always show visible signs. (take it from a kid who had an arm broken in 5 places without it showing signs of "dislocation")

it could be a green stick fracture, it doesn't show up but on a X-ray. If your not going to take her in to be checked out, the spend the night with her and make sure you can wake her up ever hour. A head gets hit and the arm too, but the arm hurts the brain only swells! oh then the pain or the coma.

You need to take her the Emergency Room right away.

This happened to my daughter at 18 months. She fell off the bed, cried for a little while, then seemed fine. Then I noticed it was still hurting her and she wasn't using it. I took her to the ER and they put her in a splint for a sprain for a week. It still hurt afterward, so then she had a cast for 4 weeks. better safe than sorry. You never know what could be wrong at this age, please take her in!

Can she lift her arm above her head? If not she might have broken her collar bone which is the most common break in small children. So long as there is no swelling or discoloration I would give it until tomorrow to see how it feels. It won't set over night if it is a break. If she still has pain I would take her to the doctors to get an x-ray.

She doesn't want to ice it?? Children this small can not make those decisions. Just because it is not obvious, does not mean it is not fractured. If she favors it and keeps complaining you should take her to see a doctor, because if someone else notices it, and she has to see a doctor, you could get in trouble for child neglect. People at the hospital are not going to just assume you are a bad parent because it is broken......only if you do not seek assistance and it is broken. Children fall and hurt their arms all the time, it takes alot of circumstances for the doctor at the hospital to assume you hurt your child. Good luck and hope its not broken!

ADD: People!! What is the relevance of how she states her child's age???????

you should take her to be seen...better to be on the safe side...accidents happen...my sisters daughter fell off the big bed(sisters bed)and she assumed the Sierra was fine..my niece was uncomfortable and didn't want to move her arm much...we went to the ER and they did an x-ray which showed she had a small fracture...they put a cast on her etc...you may now want to think about a toddler bed with rails if she's able to get out of the crib...I learned in CPR and infant CPR that you cannot always see fracture etc especially a mild one...good luck
