There was an interesting article in time magazine within the past year or two that compared 1848 to today, it was an incredibly well-written article that you can pretty easily find on the time archives

That is truly a broad question.

In reference to what exactly? Medicine, education, convience, technology?....No, we are probably at our most advanced to date.

In reference to upheaval, unrest, crime, disdain...........there are several periods that could match us.

These two quotes come to mind: "there is nothing new under the sun" and, "it was the worst of times......it was the best of times".

I can't see much change in humanity itself, it seems to remain the same throughout history.

Atlantis is professed to have been a real place off the east Coast. It was supposed to have been very evolved in Science and technology maybe even more so than we are today.

Days of Noah- so much sin and non-believers

Yesterday- just as much sin and non- believers as today
