Get away from your computer!!! Go get some experience. Ask other people about themselves, shut up and listen...take notes.

There are pretty good communication skills courses offered at your local community colleges. If this is not an option, just talk to people on line and make it a point to say hello to people anytime you are out. Whether at the coffee shop, mall anywhere. Make eye contact and smile. Talk about the weather or anything until you feel more comfortable. More importantly, don't stress about it. Stay calm and let it flow naturally. If you can't think of anything to say, pause and let the other person continue the conversation. You are worrying too much.

You are not lacking in communication skills, you are lacking in confidence. No one is really better than you are, and visa versa. While your conversing, remember no one is better than anyone else. You have many qualities that other people don't and they envy you!

I agree with trixxie. Confidence is key! When you display confidence your entire body shows it. Also, the ability to laugh at yourself. When you mess up or say something inappropriate, make fun of yourself and don't be afraid to laugh. When you are happy and confident people cannot help but gravitate toward you. Start small, baby steps. And you will see it is not that difficult. Remember this, everyone is flesh and blood and everyone gets nervous at times about many different things. Find your strong points of interests like music, food or whatever and start there. Just remember to relax and not take life so seriously it will be okay and you will do great. Good luck!!
