I just rented a large one-room apartment. The room is a large rectangle. There is a full kitchen along one of the short walls.

There is a separate bathroom of course.

What can be used to divide up the room into a bedroom and living room?

It's not something that must be done. It just would be nice to separate it a little. All I can think of are a couple of those folding Japanese tri-folds.

Anything else that might work?

Thanks.

Well there are several things I've seen to do this. My favorite is to put a large shelving unit, or you can use plants or put a drapery that hangs ceiling to floor. Good luck.

Are you going to be there for awhile? If so consider making a platform (deck) on one end of the room....Perhaps adding a short wall or divider on the edge. Put your bedroom up there. Cover your bed with very tailored bed coverings.... no ruffles, gathers, etc. just tight fitting coverings in a solid, muted color. When your guest are sitting in the other section your bed will be just high enough to make it not the main focal point of the room.
