I can use a laugh, so I was just wondering what are some bloopers that you performers have had on stage. To start things off, one of mine is from my youth orchestra days. We were playing the 1812 overture and got to the "cannon" part. All you could hear from the percussion section was a "doink!" from the bass drum...one of the drum heads had broke! Our director gave the percussionist this EVIL look and not to mention the awkward silences in the music. LOL.

When I was in high school our team was loosing so when we got the ball and was going for a touchdown the drum major wanted us to play the spirit song. When it was time to play the only person that came in was me. I played the piccolo. The rest of the band got in trouble. We almost didn't get to perform the half time show.

HA
Oh man, I've got lots.
For my senior recital, I was using this gorgeous brass that curved up at the end of the ledge that you place the music upon. This blocked out my view of the last line of my opening solo, so I had to fake 16th and 32nd note runs for six measures.

I've accidentally left my marching band uniform suspender straps hanging down under my coat (put the coat on before I pulled the straps over) and performed our half-time show like that. At many times I was the top of formations (closest to the audience).

I've had times when I played on rests during concerts.

My favorite one of all: during an all-district concert, we were playing Bach's "Come Sweet Death" arranged for band. As soon as the piece was finished, everyone was dead silent, I sneezed so hard I knocked my head on the neck of my bass clarinet. It was RIGHT at the end of the piece, no seconds in between. Everyone was laughing so hard and my director even had me take a bow for that.

During a fight scene when I played "Abigail" in Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," Proctor was supposed to smack me. We had it staged that he smacked me lightly and someone clapped off-stage to make it seem more forceful. As he smacked me, I lost balance and fell off the stage.

I almost played a solo at a state competition on soprano clarinet without the bell until the judge told me I forgot it.

I've accidentally thrown batons when conducting, once hitting a flutist and the second time, it flew over my head and hit an audience member.

For my first gymnastics competition, I overpowdered my hands for my uneven bars routine. I was attempting a jump from low bar to high bar, my hands slipped, and I knocked my forehead on the bar and fell to the ground.

During a track meet, I was asked to substitute a spot for hurdles. I volunteered to be the "back-up" hurdler as I was a jumper anyway, so once a week I trained on hurdles. Well, the day finally came I had to sub. I was in second place for the 200m hurdles, and for the last one, instead of using correct form I accidentally caught my foot on the hurdle and ended up landing on the hurdler who was on pace with me.

I almost hit someone with a shotput....

You want more....? I could go on forever!
