When Jesus was nailed to the cross (a common form of the death penalty at that time) two other men were being put to death the same way. While hanging from thier crosses the one man kind of made fun of Jesus and and said hey dude if you are all that why don't walk the walk and get us down ffrom here.. the other man said hey, this jesus dude is straight he didn't do any thing wrong.. and then turned to jesus and ask jesus to Keep him in mind when jesus got to heaven. Jesus told this man that he would be with Jesus THAT VERY DAY,, not in limbo ,, but a direct line to heaven. we are also told in the bible that IF we believe AND are baptized we will be saved.. even Jesus was baptized.. I am not catholic but my understanding is that some of thier older teachings were more man made than actually biblical. For example, along time ago the church tried to tell people that they could buy their way out of limbo( or I think it was called pergatory ). In the old days the catholic church held great power over people and just like today the people fell for some of scams that were going on in the name of the church. I don't mean that the church is a scammer by any means but just like today you had your good church leaders and your shady ones that preyed on peoples fears..in those days people didn't even have bibles in their homes because it was thought that the common person could not understand the latin and greek that the bible was writtin in then..that changed when scholars started translating the bible into the common language that was easier to understand..our modern bible comes from greek, hebrew ,egyptian ,aramaic and many many other ancient manuscripts..

Not really.
The Church has pondered the suggestion of Limbo for a few hundred years and has decided that it is not a good idea. Limbo was never official doctrine.
Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)
For centuries, people have wondered about children who died before they were baptized. The Bible does not explicitly state that they will go to heaven.
Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has been rejected.
The Church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Chruch section 1261: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2.htm#1261
With love in Christ.

It was never a firm matter of faith, always just an idea, as far as I can remember from my catechism. It was supposed to be the place where unbaptized babies who died before being able to be baptized would go because without baptism a person cannot enter heaven. However, as far as I recall, it was only an idea and never written in stone. In fact, many years ago, a priest told my mom, who had just lost a baby, that he would go straight to heaven because of her desire that he be baptized. (Baptism of desire) I am glad they threw that idea out. Though limbo was supposed to be a happy state of being, it was without God's presence and was not the fullness of joy that heaven is. Purgatory, however, is a much stronger "idea" which is practically written in stone. This is the state of a soul which dies in sin but is still basically a good person. There is a period of "time" where those souls are supposed to learn and be purified before entry into heaven. The Church pretty much espouses this idea. However it is not a doctrine or dogma.

The Vatican still stresses Baptism because unbaptized children grow to be unbaptized adults. Though a child will go to Heaven, an adult would not. Purgatory is a place to purge and to cleanse us of the minor sins our souls hold when we die. Purgatory IS mentioned in the original bibles, just those parts were "conveniently" removed by the protestant movement when they broke away from the Church.

The Roman Catholic teaching on salvation is essentially the same as that preached by the Judaizers. Paul warned the Galatian believers that if they embraced this false gospel they would actually desert Christ (Gal. 1:6).

Yes, many do. It's not a doctrine in the Church (hence its removal from the Catechism), but a theological question still being discussed.

Limbo is a theological concept, not Dogma so I say no.
I intrust their souls unto the Lord.

I believe in purgatory. It is not a second chance, it is a time of cleansing of the soul for entry into heaven. Unbaptized children go to heaven
