When Jesus said "it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to make it into heaven", he meant those people, like the young man he had just spoken to, who valued their wealth above all else.

Nothing wrong with having money. I'm happy for you; it makes life easier. It is wise however, to know that all you have is a gift from God, and that He should always be first in your heart.

Basically I take that scripture as being that have money tend to forget to praise God and give him the glory for being blessed. If you gave 10% to your church, provided that you have a church, would be the right thing to do. If you dont, then you really are a thief because it isnt yours to begin with.

What does it gain a man to profit the whole world, and lose his only soul? (If you just think about it for a second, is it really worth it for a few bucks? Your soul which will either spend ETERNITY in heaven, a wonderful, joyful place, or hell a place of suffering and horrors...Easy choice to me for a smart man (or woman)!

Its kind of like that...I mean there are poor people going to hell too, dont get me wrong, but there something about money that changes people, and normally it doesnt seem for the good. People start to worship themselves, pat themselves on the back, boast about what they have done. All big mistakes---the thing is to stay humble, and ABOVE ALL---GET SAVED AND ASK JESUS TO BE YOUR SAVIOR!

There are some horrible things that come with poverty, and while it isnt a horrible trait to have, humility is one of them. I really dont recall the last time I met a humble, saved, WEALTHY, down to earth person. Wealthy people just have this air about them that they are better than everyone else and look down on people. The fact that its easier for a camel could fit through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter heaven says alot of the character of that person and since God is omnipotent and omniscient, He obviously noticed a trend :O)

In laymans terms, dont be a jerk and let that money go to your head, and if it has, come back to earth and realize that you are mortal and blessed to be as financially stable as you are. Even as rich as Neducharnezzer (I am confident I butchered the spelling) was, he still lost his mind and was out eating grass and behaving like a wild animal....

You be good, now! I dont want to see any news stories about a wealthy socialite out in some field eating on grass and shrubs like animals!

Yeah, you do. But the good news is that it's not an regular atheist needle, it's a giant Christian needle! Big enough for both you and your camel to pass through with ease.

Please put a little something in the collection box on your way out.

If you really are wealthy, then that might explain why your heart is so cold and hardened to the truth.

Just like it is impossible to fit a camel into the eye of an needle, it is just as hard for a spoiled brat rich kid to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

I think that passage referred to a gate somewhere in (Jerusalem?) that had a low arch over it, called the Eye of the Needle. People had to get off their mounts to pass through. Heard it in a sermon once, but don't remember other details.

I think the implication was that entering the kingdom of God was difficult but not impossible.

Of course, scripture is all made up though.

Would do give up every penny you own to serve God would you sacrifice all you own in his service.Thats what will determine if your trying to get through the eye of the needle or not.

If you use what God has blessed you with to glorify him what's the problem. The eye of a needle referred to the narrow gate that camels had to bow to go through. Being rich is not wrong. Worshipping wealth is.

No.
Frankly, (heehee!) that Scripture refers to Walking with Jesus VERY CLOSELY---"AFTER" you get Saved (Spirit Recreated).

See, ANYBODY can get Saved.
It is the Easiest Thing to Do!
Millions and Millions and Millions of People have asked Jesus to SAVE them and HE DID!
(Recreated their Spirits!) :)

But, AFTER you are Saved, the Narrow Path to Life REFERS to Bringing Heaven (The Kingdom of GOD Almighty) Down Here to the Earth to PERFORM Miracles, Signs and Wonders so on.

Many are Called--FEW are Chosen.
This means that Very Few Children of GOD Almighty are agonna' Give Up their Lives on this Earth to:
1. Fast (give up eating food for a while)
2. Pray (let GOD wake them up at 3:00 in the Morning THEN get up and Pray for an Hour)
3. Read your Bible All the Time INSTEAD of Watching T.V. or movies
4.Going to Meetings, where Other Children of GOD Who DO these things and have the Power of GOD Operating in their Lives---Lay Hands on you and Pray for you and GOD Helps you Ascend in the Spiritual Realm so YOU can Help Others---See?

The Bible Says that it is Harder for a Rich Man to Enter into the Kingdom of GOD---Because that Rich Man AFTER he is Saved Won't do the Things Up Above.

It is Easy for a Rich Man to get Saved.
But, he has to watch after his money, befor and after he is saved---dont' he?

Fast, Pray, Read Bible, go to Meetings---how much Time does that Leave the Rich Man to look at the Stock Options?

Not much Rewards (in Heaven) for a man who looks at the Stock Options all the time----sad :(

But then Jesus went on to say: all things are possible with God. God will get you through that needle.

Do you know the 10 per cent rule? If you give away 10 per cent of what you earn you will be fine and probably still be wealthy!
