Hello,
I personally would suggest Minton or Royal Worcester for their outstanding quality and craftsmanship used to create their modern cabinet wares. Their "pure gold" collection, basilica, and orchid pattern are truly superb.
Besides offering their standard patterns, Minton also offers special order pieces; including the beloved Pate-Sur-Pate considered to the height of modern porcelain artistry. One pate-sur-pate piece can take an artist up to 8 weeks to complete and requires years of training (usually done at the School of Sevres). Currently Wedgwood (Now, the parent company of Minton) only has one Pate Sur Pate artist on staff (not too much demand at the moment for the fine wares). For these pieces one must contact Wedgwood/Minton directly for odering.

Royal Worcester also offers their fine "Hand Painted" fruit collection which (as history is showing us) continues to remain popular and is considered to be investment quality -though not to be thought as an equal to a commodities investment :) . Each piece of the hand painted fruit collection is crafted at the Spode factory (Worcester ended their porcelain production in 2006) and hand paintedat the old Royal Worcester factory, by artist who have trained for over 7 years.
Caverswall China is another excellent choice for modern handcrafted porcelain which exceptional artistic quality. The Company is owned by Thomas Goode & Co (A pre-eminent purveyor of Fine dinnerware, the source for the royalty and nobility of Europe). They offer a fine range of hand painted cups and saucers (As well as cabinet plates).
Caverswall China offers online ordering through their website and is very competent to deal with (link in the sources section below).

Royal Crown Derby also offers a nice range of fine cabinet cups and saucers (their classic "Imari" range is very fine and also has a steady demand).

For modern European Porcelain I would suggest a cup and saucer in the Flora Danica pattern by Royal Copenhagen.
The LeTallec Atelier in Paris is considered to be one of the finest porcelain decorating studios. They were purchased by Tiffany & Co following the death of their founder and since then their pieces are usually only available either directly from the studio or from select Tiffany & Co stores.

As for ordering Minton and Hand Painted Worcester wares I would suggest www.smallislandtrader.com. They are usually very reliable and offer very fair prices.
Hope thsi helps and Best of Luck! Merry Christmas!

They're not a good investment. Collect because you love something, not because you hope it will be worth money.
