Do you think agnostics or atheists that do the same are truly atheists? Being religious is not the same as being a good person that values the enemies life over their own. Just because a person is religious does not mean they have given up defending themselves. You are superimposing your preconceived notions on an entire group of people by over generalizing. To live in a violent world and deny violence only makes you a victim. Stalin called people like that "Useful Idiots"

Yes.
It devastates me to watch the news half of the time because of what is happening in parts of this world.
Anytime there is a report about innocent people dying it makes me so, so sad.
I wonder where the humanity is in all of it... the lack of empathy and sympathy and compassion in some people in this world just astounds me.
I think about the poor children and women in other countries being forced to work in sweat shops for hardly anything, virtually slaves, and I get so upset. It's so sad.

Killing is never good.
And war is never a good thing.
But especially when it's in the name of religion :(

Yes, and then I wipe the tears and try to do something about it. There was a time when all that almost paralyzed me and I went into a deep depression. I kept saying, "God, why are you letting this happen?!" And then it seemed like God said back to me (in my heart, I mean) "Why are YOU letting this happen?" So now I'm one of those annoying people who's always saying "Would Jesus drive a gas guzzler?" and collecting money for world hunger. :)

But I do give my kids gifts. There has to be some merriment and joy to balance out the empathy.

Wishing much merriment and joy to you, who has obviously been blessed with a compassionate heart.

The situation in the middle east is extremely depressing, I get pretty angry every time I hear about it. It's not just the perpetrators, but also western nations with blood on their hands. Mainly for bombing the crap out of their homes.

I don't cry. I just get sad, and angry. It also makes me plan. This world is falling apart. And whether it's an apocolypse or just regular old man-made end of the world, I plan to get through it. And it certainly seems awfully close these days. I think we're too far gone to do anything about it. And you forgot to mention, the wonderful U.S. and our contributions to the end of the damn world. :)

I respond with anger born of indignation. We need an international interventionist force to resolve these matters - not mere "peacekeeping" troops that stand around and do nothing while refugee camps are bombed by crazed zionists.

Yeah. And I get pissed off too so many hypocrites. And the innocent pay for it most dearly. More than enough reason to cry.
