What are some scholarships you've won? Did you ever win any?

Hopefully in the fall, I'll be attending St. Louis University which is $30,000 a year. I live with my mother and our income a year is $14,000. As you can see, we are definitely not rich.

What are some scholarships I have a good chance at? I.E. Scholarships that not many people apply for and those who do get them.

I know a lot of scholarships get ignored every year ... what are they? I will apply to a lot this holiday but I want some that I have a good chance of winning.

I hate writing essays but I will if I have to!

Have you been accepted already? I went there back in 1969, 1970, and 1971. I was able to pay my portion of the tuition on a monthly basis. It was a whole lot less in 1969.

In addition to scholarships, there are work study jobs and grants. Pell grants are for people who have need, and they're not based on grades. St Louis U probably has some grants too. Have you talked to the guidance counsellor at school? That's who helped me way back then.

Whatever you're going to do, you should get started on it. It takes time to get it all set up, and there is a limit to how many money is available.

I had a scholarship from Farmer's Insurance, but it was awarded to me at graduation. They gave me the money.

You need to contact the financial office at St. Lous University and ask them what scholarships they have for incoming freshman. They should be able to offer you something if your grades are good and you have financial need.

I won a small scholarship to study piano at a university as my second instrument. Thanks for reminding me....that was a long time ago. I am no Billy Joel, but I do play....I enjoy it.
