The wreck happened tonight and I went and took pictures of the accident . Can I sell these to the insurance companies or any one. I did not see anyone else from the police taking pictures. The driver of the vehicle was unisured and had a crack pipe in his truck, but he hit a house and the owner was not home. I am sure he has homeowners and he was getting to the scene as i was leaving.

You cannot really sell pictures of an accident scene itself (accept to possibly newspaper's depending on the circumstances).

You can get freelance work for the insurance companies, taking pictures of wrecked / damaged cars for their adjusters.

That's pretty unethical. No you can't sell them to the insurance company or anyone else. Nice trying to make a profit from something like this.
I'm sure the cops took pictures at some point.

Nope. Insurance company will not pay for them.

I've had fools do the same thing - happen to be driving by and snap some photos of an accident.- call me up offering to sell them to me.

I offered to pay for postage, development and cost of the roll of film.

If you want to make money off photos - take your camera and chase Britney Spears around and sell those photos to the National Enquirer.

I think it might be illegal to sell those photos to the insurance or the parties involved
now they could offer to buy them off you but I dont think you can
sell them

haha wow- how evil of you. karma man.. itll get ya. I cant believe you are attempting to gain money from something any good citizen would do.

regardless.. sorry.. my insurance company would NEVER buy photos from some random citizen. i cant wait for your dreams to be shot down. They really dont give a crap what some random person (you) took pictures of.

Why would such an idea run through your mind?
If anyone paid you guess would be ok; but then you could be summoned to testify at the police station.
Or worse get arrested for extorsion.
