well, my friend says I have not been my regular-carefree self and that I have been saying a lot of negative things lately. I can't help the way I feel though, and I'm just sad and I cant help it. I want to be happy and perky like usual but right now Im in a funk, I think she understands what Im going through
but how come she wont accept the way I feel?

Maybe it hurts her that you are sad? She probably just doesn't know how to help you and she missed the "old" you. It's kind of frustrating when you watch someone change right in front of your eyes and you don't know how to help them. Have you talked to anyone about this? Family, or a counselor who can help you get to the bottom of how you are feeling?

She won't accept it because she doesn't understand, and doesn't feel that way herself.

If it's winter where you are, you might look into Seasonal Affective Disorder. If I don't get enough sunshine, I am mopey and sluggish. Going someplace where lights are bright might help.

You might talk to a psychiatrist about your feelings. Maybe it's just a phase. Or maybe it's depression. If it is, meds can help.

sounds maybe like you might be bipolar.... like a mild form. your normal perky self is the mania phase, and this funk you are in is the depressed phase.
maybe you need to accept her for who she is and that she is a fair weather friend. There for you when it is sunshine, but not understanding on the dark gloomy days. And that is okay to have friends like that, but it is very sad and heart breaking when they don't understand or don't want to be around you when you are in a funk.

I have had my fair share of those "friends" supposed to be best friends and yet, when times got tough for me being all sad and stuff.... they bailed on me.

One can't help the way they feel. But one can help on how they react on those feelings.

I don't know.... maybe I am way off base. but if you want to chat I am brwneyes30_04@yahoo.com

Im not saying this as a psychologist but as a regular person, whatever that means. I think you should just ask her feeling or what she thinks. If you feel too uncomfortable, just do the regular things you do with her, perhaps the answer may spill out.
