What Is A Universal Truth

Something that is unanimously believed no matter what location, perspective, etc you are in.

So lets say... "That firetruck is red." Under a different perspective... is that statement true? To a color blind person?

What many people confuse truth with is fact. Truth is based of perception, Fact is universal. Here is an example of a somewhat universal truth at the time... long ago, everyone thought the world was flat. "The world is flat." The previous statement would be considered a universal truth, even though it is not fact. However, 100% of the people agree with the statement. so it is true.

Another example. "God exists." Many people would say that the statement is true. To them it is true(if they believe 100% in it). However ask an atheist. believe that god dosent exist. So this cannot be a universal truth. BUT, once again, what if god is really real? He would be Fact. Not truth.

In short.

Truth changes from person to person.

Universal Truths are what is agreed to be true and does not change from person to person. (Agreed upon by 100% of population)

Fact is universal, and what really IS, but it is not always realized.(Not required to be agreed upon at all)

Something we can all agree on - once we look at it - examine it.
Spiritual teachings can be an example - if it does stand up to scrutiny and examination. eg. at www.figu.org (English Discussion Forum) - look it up there.
Jewish, Christian and Muslim teachings don't fall in line with being universal truth - because none of what they say can be verified in any way. There is no historical evidence for most of their claims, when you look at them in detail, they fall apart and are not believable - in what they say and claim.

We all have to get along with one another.
Consider the Golden Rule - Do as you would be done by.
Or more simply - Harm no one - including yourself.
To be a peaceful civilisation - this is something we must obey. Gone would be the times, in which nations are at war with one another, and within themselves.
And so universal truth - should lead to a world peace....

The sun rises every day over the United States. That is a universal truth.

It rises in many places around the world but not all ~ iceland at certain times of the year for instance ~ but hopefully you get the gist of that example.

Logic. Consistency.

Chaos is logical in that it's in a state of chaos. All things contain logic. When something fails logic or shows signs of inconsistency, it's best to question it. Patterns may develop that may show its new logic.

For instance, the Bible is full of inconsistencies. Logically, it would be best to believe that it was merely created by man, much like how current religions begin, such as Mormon or Scientology.

Remember, history is what we learn from. Look for patterns.

My answer would be logic and consistency. 1+1=2 and when that changes, logic will, as well, but it will be consistent with said change. Understanding.

This is quite the topic and I cannot really sum it up accurately in a paragraph for my thoughts.
