Dear friend, satan will send any distraction he can to prevent you from a powerful prayer life.
He knows the power of prayer.
satan thinks if he can get God's children to "Put off" prayer, reading the Bible, ministering to others he will.
Procrastination is only part of his deceptive plan to bring ruin to God's children.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Faith without works is dead.
Be like the eagle !
Let nothing or nobody stand in your way when it comes to spending time with God.
Stay focused like a soldier, just like your life (soul) depends on it.Because it does.Plead the Blood of Jesus and rebuke satan & his minions and command then to flee in Jesus Holy name.
Also, give no place to the devil. Becareful what you see & hear,as they become part of you.
Everything you come in contact does one of two things.
makes a deposit or a withdrawl.
People either add to you the positive things of God or leave you feeling negative, drained.

I can't say that it is demons, but there is only one way to do battle.
I can say that part of your problem is perfectionism. I know this because I am a perfectionist/procrastinator. I think that if I can't do something the way it 'should' be done, or I don't have enough time, or whatever, then I never get started.
For years I didn't read my bible because if I was going to do it, I had to follow one of those 'one year' plans. I 'knew' I couldn't read it straight through, because that was the 'wrong' way.
One day I thought, it might be wrong, but it's REALLY wrong to never read it. So I started reading it straight through. I got hung up in the Psalms. They bored me (I know this is weird, but I don't get stuck in the 'begats', but I get stuck in the beautiful songs!). I got stuck with no progress for three months, when I remembered my original reason for the original plan, and I realized, I could read my bible imperfectly! I could skip the Psalms! Back on track.
Then I was attending a bible study. You 'can't' just read the bible a little bit every day, can you? You 'should' attend a two-hour bible study every week? But guess what? I have a part time job and I'm the mom of two teenagers! So I picked up one of those little devotion books they have at churches for 50 cents. It's great! I can do a 5-minute bible study on a morning when I have a little time, or a 1/2 hour study from the same book on a morning that is a little slower. Well, it's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
Sometimes Christians are quick to blame things on Satan, but we don't want to realize that we are responsible for our relationship with God, and even God would rather have something than nothing. Plus, you never know, something small could turn into something bigger!
christian talk radio is getting to be like parenting magazines. If we all did ALL the things that just take 'a little bit of time' every day, none of us would be doing anything else. Pick and choose, but DO SOMETHING!
I, for one, am not going to let you holler 'The Devil made me do it!' Do you really want to answer for that one when the day comes? So get on your knees, and pray for 30 seconds, let it be imperfect, ask for grace, and spend another 30 seconds asking for further instructions. Then listen. Then get up and do it again tomorrow.

If you are a Christian then the devil is against you, and one thing he will attack is your prayer life, so don't give up no matter what. Resist him, tell him where to go, and to submit to the authority of Jesus, with whom you are now joined. He will eventually flee.
Regarding your procrastination, try not always praying before doing everything. Some things (small things like everyday stuff) don't really require fervent prayer, and you can just go about doing them while you walk with God. Walking with God resembles a level of awareness of both your earthly senses, and that of the presence of God all around you (like a friend who is doing the task with you). If you need guidance on something specific whilst doing the task, then your communication line to God is already open and you can just ask. Just invite him to spend some time with you while you are getting things done.
Some things require a little more effort to communicate exactly what you want to say, so use these times to sit in quiet and pray. Remember to send the Devil out first, as this is where he will try too attack you most. Your prayers don't have to be long either, God knows what you are going to pray before you do it, so don't get hung up making sure you get all the words out. Some of our most powerful prayers are spoken in our groanings to God. He really knows us well.
Remember you are a child of the living God, and you are important to him. Don't let anyone steal that from you.
And don't feel guilty! God has declared you 'Not Guilty', so who are you to change his decision.
Bless you!

Oh boy, now you've drawn me out to preach...
Relax - anxiety is a tool of that which is bad (OK, 'evil').
Pray anytime if you are a praying person (believer) - don't worry about the 'correct' time or formula - He knows you're human and He wants you to draw near so He can too, not to worry about telling Him so much what you want or need (He knows) or make deals with Him (which is pagan).
Yeah, religion can be really bad when it gets misapplied, misunderstood or when we take every conceivable detail so seriously that we cannot see anything but failure in ourselves and around us. That is not the hope of belief - first respond to the open arms of the One who loves you - there is time to be called to a loving response to Him in obedience as you grow in it. Forced doesn't work but only distances you from Him and leaves you sick and unhappy inside - a state of being where the 'devils' can 'get you' for sure.
The 'devils' can't get you if you'll relax and lay the burden on Him - and go easy on yourself. He knows who you are and that you are not perfect - that's what Grace is about. I don't know your particular belief, but obviously I'm talking about the Grace of Christ. Believe in that kind of Grace or you can gain nothing good from religion - give yourself the break He intended for you.
I don't know exactly where you're coming from and cannot know how serious you really are, so I'll presume you are hurting somehow and are serious - don't hurt yourself and get some caring help if you need it.
Good luck to you.

Well, let me tell you my friend. I dislike the idea of a evil unseen, For we are all demons in a way. We all sin and sometimes even force sin onto others. The Devil is in all of us, even your holiest priest. Thing is, the Devil isn't a person, his is an excuse. For all of natural human kinds wrong doing. concussly, we want to believe that we are all good people, subconcussly we have a dark side. your answer is no. No demons. Devils, or anything for that matter is keeping you from glory, you, your doubting yourself. No matter your religion, the Individual is stronger than the one they pray to.

not probable. The Bible itself describes the conflict between hell and Heaven, God/devil. who is going to return faraway from reading the Bible or Quran questioning the devil is the greater effectual %. of the two one in all them? additionally not plausible because of the fact he backs up his claims by miracles and the Holy Spirit. until eventually we are allowed that effectual of a fantasy, that isnt the case.

Don't worry be happy. You think to much. Pray when you want. No matter what you do, praying doesn't effect how you preform. Lets say you play NFL football. And a player prays before the game and the other one doesn't. but the one that doesnt pray does 10 times better then the one that did pray. what does that mean?. I don't pray. Ever. I m not sure if i have ever prayed. and im fine.

devils and evil spirits are always trying to turn good people bad and take them away from their glory. have you ever done anything truly evil in your life? such as murder? because to my belief, murder is the biggest sin the devil can force you to make, and if you make that big sin, it is possible the devil can do worse things than just get you. he can send his demons to possess you to name one of the worse things he can do to you. me, if i ever feel like there's evil around me, i pray for protection from God. if you dont believe in God, at least believe in Mother Mary, because one of my mom's friend believes in Buddhism, but at the same time she believes in Mother Mary. You can pray to Mother Mary for protection.
ps- suicide is still considered murder even if it's you who dies. because you're still killing a life, most importantly, your life. and it is still a sin if you kill yourself.
pss- dont listen to the devil when he says, "there's nothing you can do" or "just give it up" the devil is always trying to stop people from good, he would do anything just to get you away from good. when it's something negative, it's the devil, if it's positive (no matter how hard it may be) it's good. DONT GIVE UP!!!!

Unless you play in the Atlantic Division , no .
Seriously though , seems more like an anxiety attack . Find a way to relax . If you can't , talk to your doctor . Could be physical/medical problem , rather than strictly psychological .

Don't worry. I had a problem like that once. I kept praying the yankees would have a homerun and there were strikes! so I prayed the opposite, and they got a grand slam! try that.
