ok, what this question is of what one of those beatles guys said, hes name i think was paul mccartney, anyways he said that newfoundlanders should stop clubbing seals just for their skins and that is all they kill those animals for.
plus he said that northern inuit should stop hunting them as well, with that being said, the inuit don't just kill those animals just for the sake of the skin, infact they have been hunting those animals for thousands of years and it was and still is one of the vital animals they hunt throughout the winter.

so what do you think of this???

Meta go crawl back under your rock, intelligent people are talking here.

In order for survival the inuit have indeed hunted them for millenia, their meat and fur keeps them alive, if meta had its way, the inuit would have died off centurys ago due to starvation and cold.
Paul Mccartney is of course an idiot, anyone who would marry a gold digger without a pre nup deserves exactly what he got!
Nuff sed.

I don't think that very many people outside the northern Inuit society have any idea how the Inuit actually live. I think that before anyone, famous or not, shoots their mouth off about how wrong the Inuit are to hunt seals, they should try living with the Inuit for a year using the same clothing, eating the same food, etc. that the Inuit do. I think they might not be so arrogant after an experience like that.

Isn't there some irony in the fact that Mr. Meta would put humans on the same level as animals.I can't help but wonder if he would feel the same way if it was his life on the line, and was it was time to put up up or shut up.Things might just change a tad.

The Inuits have been dependent on Seals for generations, and with few exceptions the governments recognize and respect this fact, by allowing them to continue their legal efforts to hunt Seals...

Paul McCartney should focus on his rock and roll career, and stay out of meddling into others welfare and life style. We should however look at McCartney as a social role model to show our younger generations..what NOT to do in marriage and relationships. Too much money and too much free time can be a bad thing.....

The Northern Inuit friends of mine living in Labrador have spoken to me about this many times. They want Paul Mc and others that do not know what they are speaking about to leave them out of their agendas. These good people have some of the most severe winters on the planet and need meat and skins to survive. You see there are very few flights into that remote area during winter months bringing food and supplies. The sea is frozen until late spring so no boats are bringing food, supplies. These folks just want to live simply without the world watching over their shoulders. So leave them the **** alone. My Inuit friends don't waste any part of any animal they kill. The McCartneys waste more in a year than the whole village of Nain in the region of Nunatsiavut where my friends live.

I am kinda on the fence about the seal hunt, but the Inuit I support completely. They use every part of a seal in something so I think it is perfectly fine for them to hunt them.

For food yes, for fur only no. I have no problem with fur trappers per se, but for a valuble food source like seal, which is consumed by humans, bears, orcas, etc. I find it almost criminal to be wasting the meat and only taking the fur.

And as comment on McCartneys life style, he has actually been one of the better role models in the entertainment industry. Up until his wife of 30 years (?) died, he was one of the few ones that haven't been involved with numerous women, and has been very astute with his buisness deals. I think he deserves a little slack with the now ex.

since you cant grow a garden or anything else on the pack ice & bare rock where the inuit have always lived what would mccartney expect them to eat & make their clothes from?

The seals are a renewable resource & harvested for food & clothing as part of these peoples way of life & traditions.* They deserve not to be criticized, condemned or complained about for what they are doing by Anyone, Anywhere at Anytime.*

I am under the assumption that meta uses the same anal seal that peta uses in order to blow things out of their anterior regions.

mcartney is now known for the same. Long live Ringo.
