how do you know if your in love or not. this may be just a crush or based on looks but im not sure what my feelings are towards this girl.

I think you'll know if this relationship is just based on looks. Do you have things in common. Have you talked with each other about your plans for the future? Can you have a conversation that's not about the weather or some other trivial matter. Does what she has to say have any interest to you? I would add that relationships are not always smooth. You both have to put in some effort to make them work.
