i have a 1983 toyota pickup and the tailgate is messed up, and i found a tailgate skin for a japanese version of a 1984 and it looks the same it has a lip on it but i was wondering if the measerements and would line up correctly. the american version looks like the normal one with the next type of body (a little newer) but the '84+ ones are a little taller than the '81-'83 body syles they are the same width but the '84 is about 4 inches taller and the handle is up closer to the top than the '81-'83. basically all i want to know is if that tailgate not the american one but the other one would be able to work or even be close
PLEASE HELP ME

The basic rule of thumb with JDM vehicles is that Japan receives them one year before the US does. So the '84 pickup in Japan should correspond to an '85 pickup here.
