1 the light-harvesting system in chloroplasts functions like a funnel.the light-driven transport of electrons during photosynthesis creates a proton gradient across the thylakoid membrane.this proton gradient drives the formation of ATP. 2 ATP to ADP 3 they capture light energy and transfer it to chlorophyll
