1. What goes up must come down.
Yet we know things that go up and never come down.
2. Every medication, theory, idea is a great discover, until tomorrow.

I agree. Sometimes I think people get a little carried away and obsessed with science, and limit themselves from seeing beyond it.

#2, especially pertaining to medication, is dead on. No one knows long term effects.

No, circles is when you always go back to the same thing no matter what evidence or new discoveries show to the contrary.
Scientists are willing to adjust and move forward.

And it's always so funny how religious people are so critical of scientists until they get cancer or need a liver transplant.

Are you kidding? By your logic, we shouldn't research in developing medicine, because there's always a chance that something else might come up. That's just wrong.

It's not circles, it's progression. We don't advance if we're always looking for set-in-stone answers to everything.

Number one is just an anology, used in the context of a gravitational field. Literally, it means, "Everything inside a gravitational field will not escape it without an outside source of energy."

Since you don't think science has been the single most important aide to humans perhaps you should try going back to cave living. The scientific method as imperfect as it may be has yield us the great advances in our standards of living and increased life spans. Compare and contrast with religious thinking.

You stick with God when you are really, really sick. Say like appendicitis.

"What goes up must come down" is a lyric, not a scientific principle.
